The Gabriel Score
Every supplement on Apotheca is scored across 50+ quality signals from 15+ independent data sources. No pay-to-play. No sponsored rankings. Just data.
What is the Gabriel Score?
The Gabriel Score is the most comprehensive supplement quality scoring system available. It combines lab testing data, manufacturing records, FDA compliance, clinical research, consumer reviews, practitioner recommendations, and social media intelligence into a single 0-100 score.
Unlike review scores that can be gamed, the Gabriel Score is built on hard data: actual lab results, verified manufacturing certifications, FDA enforcement records, and real practitioner dispensing patterns. Every product on Apotheca is independently scored before it reaches the shelf.
The 7 Scoring Pillars
Every product is evaluated across seven quality pillars, each with multiple data-driven signals:

Ingredient Quality
20Excipient safety analysis, bioavailable form scoring, proprietary blend flags, artificial additive detection, and allergen profiling.
Clinical Evidence
15Published RCT backing, clinical dosage alignment, branded ingredient research, and evidence-grade classification.
Regulatory Compliance
10FDA warning letter history, recall records, adverse event frequency, and enforcement action tracking.
Brand Reputation
10Consumer review sentiment, Trustpilot and BBB ratings, return rate analysis, and complaint pattern detection.
Practitioner & Community Signal
10Practitioner dispensing frequency across 155,000+ verified practitioners, video and podcast recommendation tracking, social media sentiment analysis, and community discussion patterns across Reddit, forums, and health platforms.
Score Tiers
Products are classified into four trust tiers based on their overall Gabriel Score:
Our Data Sources
The Gabriel Score draws from 15+ independent data sources. We never accept payment for scores, and brands cannot influence their rating.
Methodology
Each of the 50+ signals is individually weighted based on its reliability and importance to consumer safety. Lab testing results carry more weight than social media mentions. FDA enforcement actions are weighted more heavily than consumer star ratings.
Scores are recalculated regularly as new data becomes available. When a brand receives an FDA warning letter, their score updates within 24 hours. When new lab results are published, affected products are rescored automatically.
We use a Bayesian scoring approach that accounts for data completeness. Products with more verified data points can achieve higher maximum scores. Products with limited data are scored conservatively and flagged accordingly.
